As a member of the House Education Committee, with a chance to review recent proposed regulations in state academic standards, I took that obligation seriously and joined Reps. Joe D’Orsie (R-York) and Barb Gleim (R-Cumberland) in penning a letter to the Independent Regulatory Review Commission. On several fronts, the proposed regulatory changes miss proven facts and open the door for misperceptions. My focus, as I dug into the standards changes, was on economics, finance and money.

Stephenie Scialabba (R-Butler) announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) is rescinding guidelines on its Culturally-Relevant and Sustaining Education (CR-SE) Standards following a successful lawsuit filed in 2023 by Scialabba, and Tom King and Tom Breth of Dillon McCandless King Coulter & Graham L.L.P. in Butler.
